Aberaeron public meeting to discuss rural crime issues
Ceredigion residents will have the opportunity to discuss rural crime issues at a public meeting in Aberaeron next month.
The meeting has been arranged by Police and Crime Panel member Cllr Lloyd Edwards in response to concerns about rural crime in the county.
The three Ceredigion members of the Police and Crime Panel will be in attendance, along with Commissioner Dafydd Llywelyn, Chief Constable Mark Collins, Ceredigion Commander Superintendent Robyn Mason, and Ben Lake MP and representatives of the Farmers Union of Wales.
It will be held at the Moody Cow, Llwyncelyn, Aberaeron, on Tuesday May 14.
Starting at 7.30pm, the meeting will give members of the public opportunity to raise rural crime issues such as livestock and machinery theft with those who have responsibility for policing in the county.
The meeting will be chaired by Dyfed Powys Police and Crime Panel chairman Cllr Alun Lloyd Jones.
Organiser Cllr Edwards said: “The Police and Crime Panel views rural crime very seriously and has identified it as an issue that it wants to focus on over the coming year.
“There will be a particular focus on rural issues, but anyone can attend and raise any relevant matters.”
